My Dad's Old Shed

The Old Shed, as seen from the new. Well, actually it's not a new shed it's a newish green house. Built by my bother and my neice.

Humberston Allotments, June 2014. Sitting in the greenhouse looking out at the old shed. It got a bit more wonky in the process of fixing it on the picture. In real life it had fallen over completely and been pushed back up again.

The fabric is mainly oddments, but The Shed is mixed silk from a saree, as is the bottom layer of the sky. For texture for trees I used shering of a dress I found in a skip. The stick on the left is from the Lime tree in front of our block of flats.

I got rid of the old long building in the background and I added dandelions in the foreground. I'm sorry about that, they're dreadful to get rid of but my inner 8 year old won out in the end.

The grass was much more impressionist at first, but Dad wouldn't leave a lawn un-mowed so it all came out and I had even more fun doing it again.

Pekinese Stitch (I have seen neater, I don't know how that one got past me. I unpicked plenty of the others, sometimes several times)

Bullion Rose (shows how under the weather I was that day. I gave up and sewed on the other roses instead.) Discretion is the greater part of valour so they say and that seems to be extra true when it comes to bullion knots and me lol
